Tyler Toad and the Thunder

written by Robert L. Crowe, illustrated by Kay Chorao

None of the animals' explanations for the origin of thunder seems reassuring to the frightened T. Tyler Toad as he hides in a hole waiting for the storm to pass.

T. Tyler Toad is terrified of thunder. The explanations of the origin of the big noise shared by various animal friends do not reassure him until Reginald P. Merriweather Fieldmouse tells him it's just the Great Toad shaking a piece of tin up yonder. The detailed and brightly colored paintings support the story well.
