Monster Goose

written by Judy Sierra, illustrated by Jack E. Davis

A collection of 25 nursery rhymes written to feature vampires, ghouls, mummies, the Lock Ness monster, and other fearsome creatures.

"Old Monster Goose, when conditions did suit her, pecked out these rhymes on her laptop computer."  Contains such rhymes as "Sing a Song of Sea Slime", "Slithery Dithery Dock--a snake slid up the clock", Cannibal Horner who ate people pot pie, and the Old Zombie who lived in a shoe. The illustrations done in dark colors with acrylics and pencils are full of details and appropriately gross and icky.

Note:

This book is much more enjoyable if nursery rhyme characters are well known to the readers.
