Me First!

written by Helen Lester, illustrated by Lynn Munsinger

Pinkerton Pig insisted on being first at everything "even if it meant bouncing off bellies, stepping on snouts, or tying tails."

One day at the beach he misunderstood the question "Who would care for a sandwich?" and being first this time means he must take care of a demanding Sand-witch (doing her dishes, telling her a bedtime story, etc.).

The whimsical watercolor illustrations are eloquent and full of details that add comedy and enhance meaning in the brief text.
