Look Whooo’s Counting

written and illustrated by Suse MacDonald

Owl flies through the night counting the animals she sees.

Owl flies through the night counting the animals she sees. The illustrations reiterate the number in imaginative ways. The bottom feathers of Owl's wings are the numerals she is counting. When she sees 3 duck the feathers are formed by the numerals 1, 2, and 3. When she passes by 7 bats the feathers are made from the numerals 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. A feature of the animal being counted also make the numeral. For example, the 2 is formed by the mouse's tail and the 6 is seen in the horns of the bighorn sheep.
