Five Little Ducks

illustrated by Pamela Paparone

In this familiar counting rhyme Mother Duck is involved in chores and hobbies while her ducklings wander the countryside.

The duck family lives in a little house in the country, where mother duck works the day away hanging out the clothes, ironing, painting, gathering apples, and baking. Meanwhile, her ducklings wander off into the idyllic countryside, and, one by one, do not return. Detailed artwork, done in rich, saturated acrylics and colored pencil, effectively follows the rhyming pattern of the text.
