The Fiddler of the Northern Lights

by Natalie Kinsey-Warnock, illustrated by Leslie W. Bowman

Henry and his grandfather go in search of the fiddler who can make the Northern Lights dance.

Henry and Grandpa Pepin go upriver to search for the fiddler who, according to one of Grandpa's stories, can make the Northern Lights dance. After their return with no success, a stranger with a a long white beard and long black box brings a night of music and friendship to the family and neighbors on the St. Maurice River, Quebec. The muted blues of the watercolor illustrations provide the perfect background for the dancing lights and winter celebration.
