Carl’s Christmas

written and illustrated by Alexandra Day

Carl takes the baby on a grand Christmas adventure before settling down in front of the fireplace to wait for Santa.

In this wordless book Carl, the Rottweiler nanny, takes the baby out caroling and helping the needy before coming back home to wait in front of the fireplace for Santa to arrive. The marvelous paintings are brightly colored and include many subtle details so the reader can return again and again and still find something new.

My Personal Favorite

One full page shows the backs of Carl and the baby and the other animals as they sit in front of a roaring fire while the next page shows each of them sprawled out asleep in the darkened room with only glowing embers in the fireplace.
