ABCedar: An Alphabet of Trees

written George Ella Lyon, illustrated by Tom Parker

An Outstanding Science Trade Book for Children that uses the letters of the alphabet to organize introduction of leaves from a variety of trees.

The entire upper case alphabet is printed across each double spread, all of the letters are black except the ones being featured. The name of the tree representing each letter is printed in gold on black and there is a small silhouette of the tree with people to show relative size. Illustrations also include a hand hold the leaf of that tree to give it scale.

For Example

G is for ginkgo
P is for poplar
X is for xolisma
