A is for Salad

written and illustrated by Mike Lester

Each letter of the alphabet is presented in an unusual way, such as "A is for salad" showing an alligator eating a bowl of greens.

Each letter of the alphabet is presented in an unusual way, such as "A is for salad" showing an alligator eating a bowl of greens. The animal's name starts with the focus letter but its activity is the subject of the text. The humorous illustrations have the look of brightly colored woodcuts. The front endpages show black line drawings of all the animals while on the back endpages text has been added to each picture: "A is also for alligator".

For Example

G is for soccer (a goat has been hit by a soccer ball)
P is for roller skates (a penguin is skating
X and Y are not important--never use them (the letters are being carried off in garbage cans)
